24-hour water to Bicholim by 2015, says Sudin

PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar has stated that with the implementation of Nirmal Bharat Yojna, all the villages in Bicholim taluka will get 24 hours water supply by 2015.
Addressing after inaugurating Nirmal Bharat Abhiyaan at Shirodkar hall, Bicholim, on Saturday, Dhavlikar said every house, ward, village, panchayat area and overall surroundings in entire State will be made clean and beautiful, equipped with environmental aspects for which the role of every person and public representative is pivotal.
“Under the scheme, 96,000 toilets will be constructed in entire Goa besides making provision for garbage and sewage treatment to keep the surroundings clean and beautiful,” he informed.
Regarding 24 hours water supply, he said residential houses having water problem will be given water tanks of 1500 litres capacity to root out the water problem entirely.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Speaker Anant Shet said the novel scheme will become successful only if every villager is co-operative and remains alert regarding cleanliness.
Bicholim MLA Naresh Sawal stressed the need for providing basic infrastructural facilities at the earliest to make the scheme a success, while Sanquelim MLA Dr Pramod Sawant said with the implementation of the novel scheme, the State is heading towards becoming an ideal state in the nation.
