3 accused of duping job seekers
A Chennai-based placement agency has filed a police complaint against three persons for promising jobs to their clients and not giving them overseas jobs.
General Manager of Belmont Manpower Consultancy in Chennai A Syed Kareen complained to the Panjim police station that Sumit Singh, Rajiv and Denika, all of Sliema Shipping having their office at Patto accepted the money from him, last month, on behalf of his 50 candidates with promises to provide them jobs abroad.
The trio however failed to provide them jobs. Neither did they return the amount to the agency. Police have registered a case under sections 420 (cheating) and 34 (common intention) of IPC, and launched an investigation. [H]
