ACB questions Rego in tender manipulation case

 

The Anti-Corruption Branch of Goa Police Wednesday questioned the Public Works Department Principal Chief Engineer J S Rego for over two hours into the Subodh Kerkar alleged tender manipulation case. 
Rego appeared before the investigating officers at about 10:30am and was quizzed till about 12:45pm in the ACB office at Altinho. 
 “His presence was required for explanations and clarifications regarding the tenders since he heads the PWD. We will proceed further with the probe,” SP Bosco George told Herald. 
The details of the questioning were however not discussed with the media.
The ACB is investigating into a tender floated for installation of a mural on the dead wall of the Animal Husbandry Department. The work was tendered for Rs 9 lakh, which was commissioned by the PWD. 
Former Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava will also be called for questioning in connection with the case, sources disclosed. [H]
