Another turtle visits Agonda beach, lays 70 eggs

Canacona: Agonda beach, which has been designated as Olive Ridley sea turtle nesting site, welcomed its second visitor of the season on Sunday night.The Olive Ridley sea turtle laid 70 eggs at the site. The nesting season of the Olive Ridley sea turtle normally starts from November but with only one sea turtle visiting the Agonda beach for nesting in later part of November, Sunday’s nesting gained significance as the second marine species of the season swiftly arrived at the southern side of the beach. Olive Ridley sea turtle is also known as the Pacific Ridley sea turtle. [H]
