Arpora locals protest water supply to hotel project

Residents of Nagoa-Arpora gathered outside a hotel at Nagoa on Wednesday to protest against road cutting work to lay a bigger pipeline for water supply to the hotel project.

Residents feared that water supply in the area would be severely affected if water supply is increased to the hotel.
At their request, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo rushed to the site to intervene in the matter.

Advising the general manager to remove the pipeline, Lobo told the hotel officials that additional water supply was not possible when residents in the area are facing acute water shortage.

Meanwhile, Lobo asked the taxi owners not to park their vehicles all along the road, but arrange for a parking space with the help of Panch Sakharam Naik and the hotel management. The general manager assured Lobo to initiate steps in the matter. [H]
