Avertano: Thorough study before minimum wage hike
Minister for Labour and Employment Avertano Furtado assured a meeting of the Minimum Wage Advisory Board members and other stake holders that a thorough study would be conducted so that a solution concerning increasing the minimum wages can be found in a couple of weeks.
The meeting chaired by Furtado discussed the revision of minimum rates of wages and heard objections and suggestions by the employers of various firms, management, trade and working class unions.
Representatives from both employers’ organizations and employees were present at the meeting. [H]
