Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa
Basilica of Bom Jesus is UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church is located in Old Goa, which was the capital of Goa in the early days of Portuguese rule.
The Basilica was constructed in 1605 and is world famous mortal remains of St Francis Xavier. The remains of the saint still attract a huge of devotees of all religions from all over the world, especially during the public viewing of his body every ten years.
The saint have miraculous powers of healing. The body of St. Francis Xavier is kept in a well-decorated casket. The Church is open to the public everyday.
