BJP will win both LS seats: Sawaikar

The chairman of Goa State Law Commission (GSLC), Mr Narendra Sawaikar, on Saturday, said that the people in the state would rally behind the Bharatiya Janata Party in the future also as it has provided a good governance during the last one year.
 
Mr Sawaikar was speaking to this daily on the sidelines of a function held at SAG ground at Bhuteabhat, Vasco, on Saturday evening, on the occasion of the completion of one-year rule by the BJP-led government in the state.
He was accompanied by the Vasco MLA, Mr Carlos Almeida, Goa Tourism Development Corporation director, Mr Jayant Jadhav, KTCL director and Vasco BJP president, Mr Deepak Naik, Ms Pallavi Shirodkar and other BJP workers from the Vasco constituency.
He expressed confidence that the BJP would win both the Lok Sabha (LS) seats in the state in the polls scheduled in the year 2014.
The GSLC chairman pointed out that the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar faced a lot of difficulties during the last one year of the BJP-led government in the state, however, he has been successful in overcoming different hurdles. He further said that the BJP-led government has fulfilled several promises which were given to the people in the state during the assembly election.
“There are several other schemes, including those of developmental projects, which need to be implemented in the next few months, benefiting  the people at large in the state”, stated Mr Sawaikar when asked about  the plans of the BJP-led government while stepping into the second year.
“There is a good environment for BJP in the state and also throughout the nation in order to come back to power during the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls,” he stated while pointing to the list of alleged scams of the Congress party and its supporting political parties.
He also gave an example of the recent mining scam allegedly involving the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
“The people would repose trust in the BJP during the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, which they had done during the assembly polls in the state by giving a clear mandate to the party and its alliance partner MGP and some independent candidates,” he stated.
Speaking on the mining issue in the state, Mr Sawaikar disclosed that “a large number of people, who are dependent on the mining industry, have been affected severely due to the total collapse of mining industry in the state.”
He informed about the package of Rs 12,000 to the truck owners who are residing in the mining belt of the state by the government on the occasion of the completion of its one year rule in the state on Saturday.
“The package is formally announced by the Chief Minister, Mr Parrikar on the completion of one year of the BJP government in the state in order to give some kind of relief to the truck owners in the mining belt,” he stated and further opined that the BJP government is concerned about the people, who are affected due to the closure of mining in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vasco MLA, Mr Carlos Almeida,  praised the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar for his all out efforts to give good, stable and clean government to the people of Goa during the last one year.
He informed about the various schemes and development projects which are in the pipeline for the Vasco constituency.  [NT]
