Bodies found in jungle identified

The two bodies which were recovered by Curchorem Police from the jungle area in Antorem-Dadhem, Sanvordem, have been identified.
The deceased have been identified as Govind Naik (30), a driver, and his wife Yenku (21) from Bellary-Karnataka.
According to Curchorem Police, during the panchanama, police recovered Govind’s driving license and accordingly informed Bellary Police and asked them to contact his family members, who reached Goa and identified the bodies.
The family members told police that the couple had a three-month-old baby, whose remains were not found. Police suspect that the body of the baby may be eaten by wild animals.
The family members also informed police that the couple had left for Bangalore in search of job some two months back. The family members further informed that they were not aware that the couple was in Goa.
Police also suspect that the couple may  have committed suicide by consuming poison due to financial crunch. The bodies were handed over to their relatives for final rites, informed police. [H]
