Body identified in Dabolim murder case

The Railway Police has identified the person murdered at Dabolim railway station as Apporna Jayappa Dodamani (32) of Derargudi in Hubli-Karnataka. According to Mormugao DySP Laurence D’Souza, the railway police managed to contact his family through a mobile number which was found at the crime site. “Family members of the deceased arrived in Vasco and identified the body. The body was later handed over to them to perform the last rites at the Vasco crematorium,” said DySP D’Souza. Family members had informed DySP D’Souza that Dodamani, who is survived by his wife and four small children, would visit Vasco and would gain employment for three months, before returning to his native town of Hubli. Dodamani was found brutally murdered at the Dabolim railway station on January 31 and police arrested two accused involved in the crime the next day.
