Book launch of ‘When in Rome don’t do as the Romans do’

Reflecting the growing importance of Goa in not only consumer products market, but also newer fields like literature, Mr Stefano Pelle, chairman of multinational food company, Perfetti Van Melle India, released his book to a select audience at the GCCI recently.
Speaking at the launch of ‘When not in Rome don’t do as the Romans do’ a 200 page volume, Mr Pelle said that Goa was the place where the book was conceived as well as completed and was the reason for being selected as the venue for the launch. He added that the idea germinated while on a holiday in December 2011 and completing the work took him about the year.
In Indian corporate circles Mr Pelle is a known name for being a successful expatriate CEO who masterminded the launch of several successful confectionary products in the chewing gum, mint and mouth-freshener segment. His book ‘When not in Rome don’t do as the Romans do’ is basically a chronicle of his working years in India including accounts of his professional as well as personal life.    It is Mr Pelle’s second book and is an outstanding contribution to cross cultural management literature. The book launch was by Mr Manguirish Pai Raikar, president GCCI.   [NT]
