Boy kidnapped and sodomised in Margao; 3 held

 

The Margao police have arrested three persons for kidnapping, assaulting and sodomising a 13-year-old boy near the Margao railway station.
 
Police sources said that accused identified as Pritish Sarkar, Laxmikant Gahir of Orissa, Yeshwant Sahu of Chhattisgarh and an unidentified person with their common intention kidnapped the boy while he was proceeding towards the Margao railway station so as to go back to his residence at Curchorem.
The accused assaulted the minor boy, dragged him to a construction site and wrongfully confined him. Here again the assailants attacked him with a club.
The sources said that in furtherance of common intention the accused had unnatural sex with the boy in one of the rooms at the construction site.  The battered boy was then tied and wrongfully confined again. The boy was referred for a medical examination. A police team visited the site and recorded the statements of some people.
The police said that all the accused have been arrested and remanded to police custody.
An offence under sections 363, 324, 342, 377 read with section 34 of the Indian Penal Code  and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act, 2003, has been registered. PSI Mr Pravin Gauns is investigating the case. [NT]
