Budget figures based on assumptions: Rane
Leader of opposition Pratapsingh Rane termed the Goa budget 2013-14 as 'Chalta hai', and said that the figures provided by chief minister Manohar Parrikar are based on assumptions.
Speaking to mediapersons, Rane said that the fiscal deficit has doubled and Parrikar is relying on the central government for a grant-in-aide.
He also said fiscal deficit, huge borrowing from market and dependence on grant-in-aide from central government is an issue of concern.
Recollecting that last year the budget had projected 6% growth in the agriculture section, Rane said Parrikar has also projected a 6% growth in agriculture this year, which is highly impossible to achieve.
He also said that Parrikar has to move ahead as he had completed more then one year in office and he should stop blaming the previous government for the financial position of the state. [TOI]
