Cabral gives ultimatum to govt over cross desecration; Threatens protest

Curchorem: Condemning the incident of desecration and vandalisation of Crosses, tombs and niches in the cemetery of Guardian Angel Church, Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral has given an ultimatum to his own government saying he would sit on the road if police failed to find the culprits responsible for incident.Speaking to the Press, Cabral said that he wanted to see results and had instructed the police to expedite the process or he would even resort to taking the drastic step of agitating against his own government.“I told the police to be vigilant and to intensify night-patrolling after the incident of two Crosses where desecrated and vandalized in Curchorem, one just few meters away from my house,” Cabral said, adding that he would speak to the chief minister once he returned from abroad and if necessary demand a change in the police team.
He said the government should modernise the police system by monitoring all activities through surveillance cameras and take steps to install more high-definition cameras, besides maintaining them.Meanwhile, reacting to the demonstration held by AAP against the condition of the roads in Curchorem, Cabral said that all the roads in Curchorem were in good condition except the stretch from Ambedkar circle to Curchorem town, which was never been asphalted as claimed by AAP.Briefing media Cabral accepted that around 700 meters stretch from Ambedkar circle was in bad condition.
