‘Case requires broad investigation’


The state government has made a formal communication to the central home minister to replace the incumbent inspector general of police (IGP) Sanjay Singh.
Sources said that after chief minister Manohar Parrikar conducted the inquiry in the government vehicle which was driven by the lady and which was posted on the social networking site. It was found that the vehicle was allotted to the IGP said police sources
Sources also said that Parrikar was not happy with the functioning of IGP and he has requested the central government to immediately send replacement to the IGP.
It may be recalled that Parrikar immediately after he tool over as chief minister if state, had said, "IGP Sanjay Singh has failed to carry out field duty and such officers have been posted to Goa. Before Goa, Singh was posted in Parliament to look after security. We want officers who can look after investigations in the state." [TOI]
