CCP meet to discuss pay parking for Panaji
The ordinary meeting of the councillors of the Corporation of the City of Panaji, scheduled to be held on January 24, will discuss the issue of introducing pay parking system along various roads in the city.
It may be recalled that the CCP has been deliberating on this issue for past many years, but could not take a concrete decision due to the opposition for the same from the city residents.
The meeting will also discuss the issue of pending bills of contractors of the works executed. The other matters to be taken up are the issue of the construction licences to commercial-cum-residential buildings in the city, the ‘Plastic Free’ campaign for the city, providing speed breakers on the stretch of road between ‘Little Treasures’ pre-primary school and Government Primary School, Dona Paula and a proposal for acquisition of stretch of land opposite Hotel Nova Goa, Panaji.
The meeting will also discuss establishing of the state-of-the-art animal shelter under Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to All Animals (SPCA), Goa (North) and use of the Corporation premises for running an Anganwadi centre. [NT]
