‘Central government is not my boss’
Defending his stand of sending back two Indian Police Service (IPS) officers posted to Goa by the Central government during the last year, chief minister Manohar Parrikar said in the assembly on Thursday, "Central government is not my boss."
Though he accepted that the Central government, which is a federal government, has primacy in certain matters, he said the state government has its powers granted under the Constitution.
Claiming that the Center doesn't sent good officers to Goa, Parrikar said he will not tolerate such behavior from the Centre.
He further said the Union government was not doing any favour by releasing funds to Goa. "We are getting what is rightfully due to us as per the formula," he said. [TOI]
