Chimbel gives monetary aid to its clerk’s widow

Namita Paryenkar, widow of Narayan who worked as clerk in Chimbel panchayat, was given financial assistance by the panchayat authorities ahead of the Ganesh festival, on Monday.

A cheque of over Rs 15,000 was presented to Namita by Sarpanch Shruti Kunkolkar in the presence of Deputy Sarpanch Chandrakant Kunkolkar, Secretary Rajendra Gawas and panchas Shoban Borkar, Dnyaneshwar Shirodkar, Rajesh Vernekar and Sunil Golatkar.

Narayan had put in 23 years of service in the panchayat before he died on July 7 this year, following a heart attack.

Since his death, Narayan’s widow Namita was finding it difficult to finance the studies of her two children, a son and a daughter.

Considering her plight, the panchayat authorities made a strong case to the BDO and the Deputy Director of Panchayats for speedy clearance of the dues and also to approve the pension.

Accordingly, Namita will now be entitled for a monthly pension of Rs 8,590. Besides this, the gratuity and leave encashment, totaling over Rs 5.5 lakh will be paid by the panchayat, in installments. [H]
