CM holds closed-door meets with dept heads

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday had closed door meetings with all the departmental heads at Irrigation Department’s rest house at Pajimol-Sanguem.

Parrikar was accompanied by Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai, Sanguem BJP President Manoday Phadte, ZP Navnath Naik, Prasad Tilve and others.

Soon after reaching the venue at 11.40 am, Parrikar began conducting department wise closed door meetings at the rest house. Even the media persons were kept out from the meetings. Parrikar left the venue at about 6.30 pm after finishing with all the departments.

While what was conspired at the meetings was not known, sources informed that during the course of the meetings specific instructions were issued to the departmental heads pertaining to the development works to be carried out in Sanguem constituency.

Incidentally, a large number of citizens from Sanguem who had gone to attend the meeting in the morning had to return back home after Parrikar commenced with the closed door meetings. Parrikar however attended to public in the evening.

The public alleged that they were kept out of gate by the police for sometime.

A group of mining workers whose services are terminated by a mining company also met the chief minister, who reportedly assured the workers of taking up their issue with the company management.

Parrikar is also reported to have given some time to the sarpanchs of various panchayats in Sanguem and informed them of the development works to be carried in the respective panchayats.

Parrikar also informed the sarpanchs to submit a list of development works to be carried out to MLA Phaldessai. Development works of Rs 2.5 crore are believed to have been assured in every panchayat.

Party officials in Sanguem informed that the meeting was called to chalk out development activities in the constituency. [H]
