CM’s son got plot by fair means: BJP
While defending Goa industrial development corporation's (IDC) decision of allotment of plot to chief minister Manohar Parrikar's son in the Tuem industrial estate, BJP on Thursday charged that the Congress party was running a "mischievous propaganda".
Addressing mediapersons here, BJP vice president Wilfred Mesquita claimed that Goa IDC had not bent any rules while allotting a plot to the chief minister's son. Parrikar is also the chairman of GIDC. The Congress party had accused him of favoritism.
Stating that the Congress men still cannot digest the electoral thrashing they got a year ago in the assembly election, the BJP vice president said, "Nowadays, more and more they live a lie, tell a lie to the point of lying themselves into trouble to sensationalize issues so as to mislead and misinform public."
The defence of BJP comes a few days after Goa state industries association president Shekhar Sardesai refuted any hanky-panky in the allotment to the CM's son.
Mesquita also claimed that for the first time in its history, GIDC has followed a fair, transparent and accountable procedure in allotment of plots in three industrial estates. [TOI]
