Coastal police detain trawler

The Betul coastal police on Saturday evening seized a fishing vessel which was found anchored close to the Goan coast.
The police acted following a complaint lodged by the President of Cutbona Boat Owners Association, Patrick D’Silva.
The boat was intercepted in the sea close to the coast and was later brought to the Betul fishing jetty this evening.
Patrick told Herald that the fishing vessel from Kanyakumari was spotted close to the Goan coast in the last few days and demanded that the coastal police carry out investigations into the presence of the vessels close to the coast.
When the vessel was anchored at the Betul fishing jetty, coastal police personnel conducted a detailed search of the vessel and detained the same. [H]
