Confusion at Canacona SSC exam sub-centre Examiners object to presence of parents
Confusion prevailed during the SSC examinations at a sub-centre in Canacona, as examiners took exception to the presence of several parents of higher secondary students at the school campus while examinations were in progress.
According to sources, the higher secondary school authorities had called several parents of girl students to collect a scholarship of Rs 1,000 eligible to girl students on Thursday morning.
However, the turnout of so many people at one time in the high secondary complex caused a disturbance of sorts to the SSC students answering their first paper.
As the SSC students began to get disturbed while answering the paper due to noise generated by the people, some examiners reportedly took strong objection against allowing such activity in the campus when examinations are going on.
This caused a furore of sorts as some parents reportedly stated that objections by the examiners was an offence to their legitimate right to enter the higher secondary school compound to collect the scholarship.
Heated arguments prevailed for some time before the problem was resolved and most parents reportedly left with the scholarships. [H]
