Cong hails, BJP terms it ‘unpopular’

 

There were expected reactions to the Union Railway Budget 2013-14 along political lines, from the two major political parties in the State with Bharatiya Janata Party, Goa Unit terming the budget as ‘unpopular’ and pointed out that the Budget has nothing to offer Goa. 
The Congress, on the other hand, welcomed the budget and said ‘the budget is people-friendly’. 
Reacting to the Budget, BJP president Vinay Tendulkar said “the budget has nothing for Goa except for two or three new trains. It is an unpopular budget with no much benefit to the public,” he added. 
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Subhash Shirodkar termed the budget as ‘people-friendly’.   “The budget is a clear indication as how serious the UPA government is about the economic growth and welfare of people,” he stated.  [H]
