Cong men asked to connect with voters via social media

Panjim: With political parties and individual politicians switching over to the social media to connect with the people, All India Congress Committee Joint Secretary Harshwardhan Shyam has asked the party’s State unit to make best use of this platform.“Congressmen in Goa have to be active on social media and give feed back to the organisation and to the legislators on various issues affecting the State,” he said in a meeting with the party leaders on Friday.
The meeting comes at the time when the Opposition has been instructed to gear up for the Lok Sabha polls. Shyam asked his partymen to study all the government schemes and provide necessary inputs to the party as well as individual Congressmen.GPCC President Shantaram Naik alleged during the meeting that the Goa government was not doing enough to update its website and that the Right To Information Act requires certain mandatory items to be uploaded on the website, which the government has failed to do. Shyam said AICC will set up a unit of its research department in the State. [H]
