‘Corporation to supply piped LPG soon’
Chief minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday announced that a corporation will be formed to supply piped gas ( LPG) to the people as Gas Authority of India Ltd ( GAIL) has completed the work of laying the pipeline.
He also announced that the chief minister's employment scheme will be renamed after the father of white revolution, Varghese Kurien. The modified scheme will have an exit policy that will facilitate the waiving off of the loan amount in cases where the beneficiary suffers from permanent injury or in the event of the death of a beneficiary.
The beneficiaries who pay the installments on time will also get a 25% subsidy on his EMI, Parrikar said, adding that the scheme would be modified within the next fortnight.
The amendments are planned to ensure that the beneficiaries repay the loan amount on time.
He said that around 6,000 youth from the state will be covered under the scheme. [TOI]
