‘Cover boats at Mobor during monsoons’
The Chinchinim Health Centre has decided to ask the district administration to ensure that boats docked at the Mobor ship repair workshop are covered adequately during monsoons.
Primary Health Officer, Dr Nixon Fernandes told Herald that this precaution will be taken by the health centre as a matter of abundant precaution. “We have observed that many boats get docked at the repair workshop during monsoons. These vessels should not act as a breeding ground for mosquitoes”, he said.
In the past, Dr Nixon said the health centre had written to the Cavelossim village Panchayat to monitor the situation at the workshop given the presence of migrant workers and that the place had no sanitation facilities. [H]
