‘Dabolim too small even after expansion’
Referring to the recent fog incident at Dabolim airport, chief minister Manohar Parrikar said, "Such issues only come up because we share an airport with other authorities. Dabolim will hit four million commuters soon and that's the maximum it can take, even with the expansion. Mopa should be completed within four years and by then, the number will increase to six million commuters." Responding to queries from mediapersons in Margao about the probe into the PWD scam, Parrikar said that the investigations into employment-related scams were nearing completion and that those who were found guilty would be punished.
Regarding the collectorate building, he said that 30 police personnel would take care of the external security of the building, while 200 will be employed inside the new building. On the Union Budget, he said that the state Budget would have much more for the common man as compared to the central one. [TOI]
