Panaji: SpiceJet on Thursday flagged off its daily direct flight service from Goa to Surat. It is the first direct connection between Goa and Surat by an airline. The two-hour flight departs from Surat at 3.55pm and lands at Dabolim at 5.40pm, before returning to Surat at 6.05pm.
The new flight is expected to boost tourist arrivals in Goa while simultaneously increasing trade ties between Surat and Goa, airline officials said. “It will provide travellers with a much needed convenient travel option, thus saving their time while making their journey hassle-free,” a SpiceJet official said.
To cater to the summer rush, from March to October, SpiceJet has added 19 new domestic and 3 new international flights. (TOI)
