Don Bosco HS enter final round
The 3rd Mahindra Youth Football Challenge U-14 Goa-leg concluded on a thrilling note as Don Bosco High School, Panaji beat Curchorem’s Guardian Angel High School 4-3 in the final match of the state level segment to secure a place in the upcoming final round in Bangalore.
The Goan school will now compete with other top school teams from the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Kerala, Bangalore, and Kolkata. Hosted at Mapusa’s Duler Stadium, the exciting encounter between Don Bosco and Guardian Angel showcased an exhilarating game of football and went on to the penalty shoot thanks to a strong defence put up by both sides.
In the end, Don Bosco won the match powered by 4 brilliant goals. Though players from both sides got opportunities to score during the play, some chances were lost while the goalkeepers defended other attacks outstandingly.
The penalty shoot began with Guardian Angel player Saniel D’Costa’s missed goal defended well by the Don Bosco goalkeeper. Elmer Sequeira went on to score the first goal of the match for his team matched by Maclan Gomes to take the score to 1-1. [NT]
