Dry Drumsticks


  • 250 gms Drumsticks
  •  200 gms Coconut
  • 2 Medium Sized Onions
  • 1 Medium Sized Tomato
  • 1/2 Inch Ginger
  • 2 Tsp Chilly Powder or 3 Kashmiri Chillies
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric
  • 3 Kokam Pieces
  • 5 – 6 Pepper Corns
  • 2 Tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste

Clean and cut the drumsticks and keep aside. Chop two onions and a tomato and keep aside. Grind the scraped coconut, pepper, cumin, turmeric, chilli powder and garlic with a little water to make the masala. Heat the oil and add the chopped ginger. Saute the onions, then add the tomatoes and then fry the masala. Add salt, drumsticks and the remaining masala in the blender with a little water. Add Kokam and add the coconut for garnishing when the drumsticks are nearly done. Enjoy the Dry Drumsticks.
