Dy CM inaugurates Co-operative Week

Deputy Chief Minister Mr Francisco D’Souza said that Cooperative Sector could play a vital role in today’s fast changing world.   

Mr  D’Souza was speaking as  a Chief  guest at 59th  National  Cooperative Week 2012 celebration  at Morod, Mapusa in Bardez taluka.

The function was organized by The Goa State Co-operative Union  Ltd, Panaji in collaboration with Bardez Bazar Consumers Co-operative Society Ltd.

The Co-operative week celebration was inaugurated at the hands of Deputy Chief Minister by lighting traditional lamp. Minister for Co-operation Mr Pandurang alias Deepak Dhavlikar graced the function. Others present on the occasion were Mr Sudhir Kanolkar chairperson Mapusa Muncipal  Council , Mr Bhingi, Registrar of Co-operatives, Mr Ramakant Khalap Ex Law Minister Govt of  India, Mr  Dharma Chodankar Chairman Bardez Bazar, Mr  Mahadev Natekar, Vice-Chairman Bardez Bazar, Mr Umesh  Shirodkar, Vice-Chairman Goa State Co-operative Union, Mr Avadoot Mahatme, Chief  Executive officer Goa State Co-op Union.  

Speaking further Deputy  Chief Minister said, Co-operative Sector has to work more to spread the  Co-operative movement throughout the state of Goa and he appealed to the public to involve  in Co-operative movement in order to strengthen it.

The Co-operation  Minister Mr Deepak Dhavlikar stressed the need to strengthen  Co-operative  Sector. His  Government is making detail study  in this regard, he added.

The following persons were felicitated at the hands of Mr Deepak Dhavlikar. Mr Gurudas Sawal, Mr Salvador Pinto, Ms Sandhya Salgaonkar,  Mr Raghunath Chimulkar, Mr Sakharam  Padwal and Ms Deepa Hobale. Mr Mahadev Natekar proposed vote of thanks. [NT]
