Easy wins for Manora, St Sebastian UC

Curtorim: Youth Club of Manora blanked Maina SC 3-0 in the GFA Second Division match played at Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs ground, Curtorim on Wednesday.In the opening stages of the match both teams displayed an attacking intent with Dadapeer Patel connecting the ball to Clifton Fernandes of YC Manora but Floyd Barretto defender of Maina SC, blocked his effort in the third minute.Fifteen minutes into the match, Agnes Vaz took control of the ball from Joshly but the latter’s 25-yard striker was cleared to safety by Vialito Miranda, YC Manora defender.Maina SC upped their pressure as Agnes Vaz connected the ball inside Manora box to Joshly Gomes but the latter’s back-heeled effort was thwarted by Manora defender Joywin Carneiro in the 26th minute.Dadapeer Patel of Manora missed the best chance to score for Manora in the  40th minute as he shot blindly into the safe hands of Maina  keeper Christo Hilario.
Clifton Fernandes of Manora was the worst culprit for Manora as he shot wide with no one at the goal.Floyd Baretto of Maina long rang shot was saved by Swizel Pereira goalkeeper of Manora in the 44th minute.The second half saw both teams on attacking mode.Joao Fernandes of Maina saw Agnes lurking in the Manora box and connected the ball to him in the 49th minute, but the latter miss-fired the kick.In the 66th minute, Clifton Fernandes’ opened the account for Manora with a powerful strike.Shubert Colaco fired two more goals to take the final tally to 3-0.At Raia ground, Raitura SC and St Rock YC, Majorda played out a goalless draw.
At Cansaulim ground, the match played between Baina YRC and Mormugao United ended 1-1 draw.Clenny Dias opened the account for Baina YRC in the 37th minute while Sushant Borkar equalised for Mormugao United SC in the 84th minute.At Rosary ground, St Sebastian UC, Benaulim blanked Mandopa SC 2-0.John Fernandes opened the account for St Sebastian in the 11th minute, while Xavier Clement doubled the lead for St Sebastian in the 44th minute.
