ESG to form Trust to award film talents

Entertainment Society of Goa Tuesday announced plans to form a Trust to award talents in the Indian film industry, and these awards will be named after Goans, who have contributed to that industry.
“It is an initiative for remembering yesteryears Goans who have immensely contributed in different ways to Indian Cinema,” ESG’s Vice Chairman Vishnu Wagh told a press conference.
“The modalities are yet to be worked out. We will hold a series of meetings to discuss this initiative,” Wagh said responding to a question.
He opined that though the Goan film industry is in its infancy, its contribution in the Indian film industry is noteworthy.
Speaking about the overall response to the International Film Festival of India, which is heading for the closing ceremony scheduled on November 30, Wagh said it has been encouraging as several people still want to be a part of it.
“The response is encouraging and most of the delegates have expressed satisfaction. The entire operation is being carried out smoothly and the people have loved the state and the hospitality,” he claimed.  [H]
