Evaluate your ministers: NCP to CM
Taking on the Chief Minister for his utterances, the Nationalist Congress Party on Tuesday challenged Manohar Parrikar to keep his word and conduct an evaluation of the performance of all his ministerial colleagues.
Addressing the media, chief spokesperson Trajano D’Mello especially sought an evaluation of Minister for Women and Child Development Dilip Parulekar saying that his functioning on the issue of the Laadli Laxmi and Griha Aadhar Schemes, left a lot to be desired.
“At the time of distribution of portfolios, the Chief Minister had promised that on completion of six months, he would review the functioning of every Minister. Though one year has passed he has failed to review and make public, his assessment of the functioning of his ministers,” Trajano said.
“The Women & Child Development Minister had announced in the presence of the Chief Minister that Rs 150 crores was earmarked for the Laadli Laxmi Scheme and another Rs 150 crores for the Griha Aadhar Scheme. After reconciling all information received under RTI not even 30% in both the schemes have been utilized. This is a clear case of inefficiency and bad administration,” Trajano alleged.
He also raised the issue of how panchayats which have the post of sarpanch reserved for women are remaining without heads with the male deputy sarpanch ruling the roost, since there was no proposer and seconder for the women panchas and that the government should amend the Act in these cases. [H]
