Experts of IISc, IITB to aid NIT Goa

Panaji: Students of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Goa, will be able to perform lab experiments sitting at their campus in Farmagudi through simulation at the virtual laboratories of the NITK, Surathkal, from now on.NIT Goa has entered a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and NITK, Surathkal, which comes into effect from the current academic year 2017-18 itself.
“NIT Goa being a new NIT, the average age of its faculty is 30 years. The lectures from experts from these three institutes will benefit not only the students but also the teachers,” said NIT Goa director Gopal Mugeraya. Every weekend, three virtual classes will be held by a professor from IITB, which will be attended by NIT Goa students as well as faculty. Part of the evaluation in a year will also be carried out by professors from IITB and IISc.Experts from these three institutes will also visit the campus on a regular basis. [TOI]
