FDA asks 70 illegal kiosks to shut shop

 The officials of the Food and Drug Administration have during the four day drive to unearth kiosks/stalls selling food preparations without approval of the FDA authorities detected 70 such stalls/kiosks, most of whom were operating by the roadside.

According to the information provided by the FDA authorities the owners of these stalls, which were located in Panaji, Margao, Porvorim, Mapusa, Ponda and Vasco were also operating without the approvals of the local municipal or panchayats.
The owners of the stalls have been directed to immediately shut down operations till they obtain FDA approval and the local bodies. The FDA officials had conducted the drive to check those operating without licences. [NT]
