FDA raids road side stalls

Food inspectors of the Food and Drug Administration conducted check on road side fast food movable handcarts as well as food sold from motorised vehicles from which fast food was being sold and booked 11 handcarts and one vehicle.  The vendors were directed to stop their business as they were operating without any food safety licence.  According to Director of FDA, the carts and vehicles did not have licences from their respective panchayats either. The raids were conducted in Cortalim, Verna, Nagoa-Pirni and in Margao city. The FDA will continue raids on such establishments in the areas, the FDA director has said. [H]
