Final year examinations of degree courses to be held online from August 3

Panaji: The final year examinations of the undergraduate degree programmes of the Goa University will be held exclusively through online mode from August 3, due to the ongoing Corona pandemic.

The programmes include BA, BSc (including Home Science), BCom, BCA, BSW, BBA and so on.

A Goa University circular states that all the examinations pertaining to the VI semester end examination/ repeat (semester V) for all terminating/ outgoing students of UG programmes of general education shall commence from August 3 onwards and conducted in online mode only.

“There shall be only one question paper per subject per college,” a circular issued by the Goa University registrar, Y V Reddy states, adding that the duration of the examination will be two hours.

For subjects having practical component, the viva will be held online.

The question papers will be sent to the students through any of the platforms such as Google Classroom, Moodle, E-mail, WhatsApp, etc, at 10 am.

Students will be able to type answers either electronically or write down the answers and then scan/ photograph and upload the answer sheet. Students will be required to upload their answer scripts latest by 2 pm.

The college shall retain print-outs of the uploaded answer sheets for record.

The circular has also provided pattern of the question paper and formula for declaration of the results of specific UG programmes.

Meanwhile, the Goa University has also announced that end semester exams of post-graduate courses would also be held by online mode, this year.

A circular to this effect has been issued to departments and institutions offering post-graduate courses.

The date of conduct of the exams has however, not been specified yet.

“However, these guidelines shall not be applicable to the MSc Marine Biotechnology programme and the PGDMLT programme,” informed the GU circular. [NT]
