Galgibaga, Maxem villagers raise concern over muddy pathway

Canacona: The villagers of Maxem and Galgibaga are put to hardships over a muddy pathway that villagers use to cross a river. This situation has risen as the authorities are laying the foundation of a bridge at the Galgibaga River.
The residents of two villages have been using the pathway during the low tide as the fibre boat used for transporting villagers has to stop halfway, unable to touch the ramp in Galgibaga. Hence villagers have been put to inconvenience and have to tread the pathway through knee deep soil.
The villagers have called upon the concerned authorities to remove the mud since they do not have any alternate route to cross the river. The villagers said that if this route is closed then they have to travel via Poinguinnim to Maxem and vice versa which is nearly 10 kilometers.[NT]
