Garbage dominates Rumdamol meet

 

 Garbage issue dominated the gram sabha meeting of the village panchayat of Rumdamol.
The meeting witnessed a uproar and the police were called by the Sapranch Sofiya Riyaz Sheikh to remove a member out of the hall.
Members questioned the Sarpanch over the steps taken by the Panchayat body to tackle the burning issue of garbage in the village. They pointed out that the housing board is facing the worst ever problem of waste disposal and called for urgent efforts to tackle the menace.
The sarpanch pointed out that the Panchayat has brought the waste problem to the notice of the local MLA and Fisheries Minister Avertano Furtado. She pointed out that a solution will be found out to the problem.
The issue of housing also came up for discussion, with members pointed out that many a people  in the Housing Board area are staying there on rent without no accommodation of  their own.
When newsmen later quizzed the sarpanch over her decision asking the police to remove a member from the hall, she said the member charged towards her and was not behaving properly during the proceedings. The member, however, denied the allegation made by the sarpanch and requested Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar to have a look at the housing board village. [H]
