Gaude promises to resolve water shortages in Marcaim

Ponda: Tribal Welfare Minister Govind Gaude recently visited Marcaim village with an assurance of development and to resolve the water issue of the villagers by making use of natural water resources available in the village. The Minister also inspected Marcaim health centre and has announced its renovation under a tribal sub plan. Along with him Marcaim sarpanch Asmita Madkaikar and a few locals were present during the visit.

According to Marcaim sarpanch Asmita Madkaikar despite serving the Marcaim constituency for the last two decades, MLA Dhavalikar has failed to resolve many issues affecting the villagers. Major issues of the villagers are water shortage and dilapidated condition of the health centre. Considering it, we approached Minister Govind Gaude to look into the development of Marcaim village on par with Priol, she said.

Minister Govind Gaude said that though he is the MLA of Priol, he is the Minister for the entire state. “Marcaim is a neighboring village to my constituency and based on the sarpanch’s request I visited the village with an aim to initiate some developmental projects for Marcaim” Gaude said.

The Minister further said that he first inspected the Marcaim Health centre, which is lacking in facilities and needs urgent repairs. Taking note of the same, the renovation of the building has been assured, the minister said.[NT]
