GBA to hold consultation meet on Regional Plan

The Goa Bachao Abhiyan is regrouping. With seemingly no movement on the Regional Plan, nor any semblance of streamlined planning, being shown by the government, the citizens’ collective has called for a consultation on the issue with all concerned citizens.
“From the re-opening of ODP’s without tackling issues of built-up FAR and parking, continuing blurred lines between Settlement and Commercial Zoning, mooting of 20% extra FAR for hotels to `boost’ tourism revenues, mega projects, to tendering for an amphitheatre on an Eco-I zone, the ad hoc nature of planning is beginning to be seen again,” the GBA Secretary Reboni Saha said in a statement.
“The consultation is called in response to a call from all quarters to come to a common understanding for protection of Goa through proper land use planning,” she added.
GBA has called for a consultation on Regional Plan 2021 – way forward on April 2, at Sanskruti Bhavan, Multi Purpose hall, Patto, Panjim at 4.30 pm.
Regional Plan village level committees, groups and concerned citizens are invited for presentations by groups followed by discussion. [H]
