Goa Industrial Development Corporation files 2 complaints against former employee

The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) on Wednesday filed two complaints with the anti-corruption bureau against its suspended deputy general manager (administration) for concealing facts when two plots were allotted to his family members in 2010.
Sources said that the GIDC allotted two plots to family members of William Borges who was holding the post of general manager, and certain facts were not revealed when allotment was made.
Sources claimed that Borges was placed under suspension in 2011 for there had been various complaints that accused him of illegalities and misuse of power.
Though there is no regulation that bars allotment of plot to an employee of GIDC, and many have had got their family members allotted plots, the case of Borges was different.
Borges was allotted more than ten plots to various family members. A few months ago GIDC had issued notices asking all employees who got plots for their family members to surrender them to GIDC. However, the warning went unheeded.
Sources said a sub-committee of four directors of GIDC has been constituted to deal with the matter of employees' families acquiring plots. [TOI]
