Goa’s Javed Shaikh leads national supercross


Goa’s Javed Shaikh leads the MRF National Supercross Championship 2012 with 149 points after clinching 2nd position in the fourth round at Jaipur, Rajasthan on Sunday.
Following him is another Goan Allan Sequeira, who came 3rd and stands at 2nd position with 129 points. Jaipur’s Gaurav Khatri won the first place.
Earlier, in the first three rounds held at Pune, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh Javed exhibited excellent riding skills. He won 1st position in the first round at Pune, came 2nd in the 2nd round at Ahmedbad and at Chandigarh, in the third round, he once again won first place.
Javed Shaikh has thanked SAG for supporting him and also thanked to all his well wishers and fans.
Javed’s brothers Shakil Ahmed while talking to this daily said, “If Javed had a bike or somebody had provided him financial support three years back, he would have been the champion of India.”
“We family members and some well wishers have come forward and supported him to buy a KTM 250 bike from Dubai this year,” Javed’s other brother Mr Aslam Shaikh said.
The last round of the championship will be held at Chennai on December 10. [NT]
