Govt proposes theme park at Mayem
After much talk, the state government is finally moving to have a theme park in the state. The proposed site for the same is Mayem lake.
In response to a private member's bill tabled by St Andre MLA Vishnu SuryaWagh, the tourism minister Dilip Parulekar told the assembly on Friday that a proposal through Goa tourism development corporation has already been moved for setting up a theme park in Mayem. Though he said they have received two proposals from two agencies he said, everythingwill be done systematically. The request for proposal (RFPs) will be issued, shortly.
Earlier, St Andre MLA, through his bill, said the government should take all necessary steps to set up a theme park in the state which can be a major tourist attraction.
Expressing his ideas of the theme park, he said it should have different entertainment avenues like multidimensional Bollywood play, food court, water world, light and sound show.
Nuvem MLA and former tourism minister Francisco Pacheco said that his constituency also deserves to have a theme park.
The tourism minister said requests by MLAs are always considered. [TOI]
