Grand Carnival assured for Madganvkars

The Margao Carnival Committee 2013 has chalked out plans for a grand celebration of Carnival in the commercial capital, beginning from Saturday. The city will play host to the traditional float parade on Sunday, starting from the Holy Spirit Church square at 3.30 pm and culminating at the Margao Municipal square.

Addressing newsmen in the presence of MMC Chairperson Arthur D’Silva and city fathers, Margao Carnival Committee 2013 president Gonzaco Rebello said the Committee will make a concerted attempt to revive the traditional Intruz by holding a host of special programs on the SGPDA grounds from February 9 to 11.
This year, the Committee has roped in bands like the Big Country Band, Archies, Pure Magic, besides Konkani artist Lawry and Vruta Karmali, who will sings songs of Lorna. “Belly and samba dance, Lethal Ladies (Europe’s hottest dance group), fire dancers, African acrobats, fancy dress, fire works will be held to keep the crowd entertained throughout the festival,” he said.[H]
