IFFI expenses placed before ESG gov body

 

The expenditure incurred by the Entertainment Society of Goa in organising the International Film Festival of India 2012 was placed before the governing body of the ESG held recently. The expenses amounting to a total of Rs 3,73,62,050, for programmes, venue construction and sound and light was placed before the governing body and will now be placed before a scrutiny committee. Speaking to Herald, Vice Chairman of the ESG Vishnu Wagh said that the submitting of the expenses before the scrutiny committee was part of the normal procedure that was followed by the ESG. “It is the usual procedure of submitting of our expenses before the governing body and further for scrutiny,” Wagh said. Meanwhile the government is yet to release the funds to many of the performers at the IFFI sidelight functions organised by the Entertainment Society of Goa. “So long as the government has not given us the money how can we pay the artists,” Wagh told Herald  adding that they have already submitted all the bills before the government.  “All that remains is that the money has to be released,” Wagh said.
