Illegal house demolished at Usgao

The Demolition Squad on Friday demolished a house at Marwasada-Usgao.
The demolition was carried out with police protection following an order passed by Ponda JMFC.
According to reports, the demolition squad citing law and order problem had sought for police protection as the occupants were not ready to vacate the premises.
Property owner, Surekha Naik, claimed that she had purchased 500 sq mtrs of land at Marwasada-Usgao in 1999. “Soon in 2000, a local illegally built a house in the property,” claimed Naik.
“The matter was in the court for over 13 years and finally we won the case recently. Though the court had directed the occupants to vacate the premises and to demolish the illegal house, the occupants were not ready to leave,” informed Naik.
“The house was vacated and demolished under police protection,” added Naik. [H]
