Jharkhand worker found murdered at Bicholim
A 28-year-old labourer from Jharkhand was found murdered at Dodamarg, Bicholim, at 8am on Tuesday.
The Bicholim police said that the incident occurred at the guest house of Caridade George Rodrigues from Dodamarg, Bicholim, where the deceased and another man from Jharkhand were employed as caretakers.
The fact came to the fore at about 8am when Rodrigues went to his farmhouse in search of the labourers but found blood stains outside their rooms, leading to the bushes. He went for about 10m, but returned and informed the Bicholim police.
The Bicholim police rushed to the spot and conducted a search along with Rodrigues and found the body of John, 28, lying in a ditch near the bushes behind the house. They also found that the other worker, Amal, was missing from the site. Based on the information provided by Rodrigues, the police arrested Amal's brother Alok James Kirkita, 26, who was seen at the farmhouse on Monday.
"We arrested the brother of the accused on suspicion and are trying to trace Amal who is absconding," said PI Neenad Devulkar. He added, "The deceased suffered five injuries on his neck and throat with a koita."
The police have registered a complaint under Sections 302, 201 of the IPC and are investigating the case. [TOI]
