Kerala filmmaker bags award at Film Bazaar


Vipin Vijay, a filmmaker from Kerala, won the 'Incredible India Development' award for his film project 'Chavunilum,' A Voice From Elsewhere, at the Film Bazaar organized by National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) as part of the ongoing international film festival of India (Iffi).
He was awarded a cash prize of 10 lakh to complete the film at the concluding session of the Bazaar held on Friday.
Vipin told TOI here that the shooting would begin in August and that it would be released next year itself.
The film is about the lives of three generations of Latin-Christian family over the 100-year period from 1870 to 1970. 'Chavunilum' is the second feature film by Vipin.
Indranil Roychowdhury won the Prasad Award for his film 'Phoring' as part of the Work in Progress Lab, section of the Bazaar. [TOI]
